A Free Eye Camp was successfully conducted at AG Church, Alancholai on 31 May 2026 at 1.00 PM by Dr. Suresh College of Optometry with the active involvement of faculty members and students. The camp was organized with the objective of providing basic eye care services and creating awareness about the importance of regular eye examinations among the local community.


FREE EYE CAMP REPORT
A Free Eye Camp was successfully conducted at AG Church, Alancholai on 31 May 2026 at 1.00 PM by Dr. Suresh College of Optometry with the active involvement of faculty members and students. The camp was organized with the objective of providing basic eye care services and creating awareness about the importance of regular eye examinations among the local community.
During the camp, comprehensive vision screening and preliminary eye examinations were carried out for all beneficiaries. The teachers and students actively participated in patient registration, vision assessment, refraction, counseling, and eye health screening activities. The camp provided valuable clinical exposure and community service experience for the students.
A total of 42 patients were screened during the camp. Based on the findings, 5 patients were prescribed spectacles, and 6 patients were identified for cataract surgery and referred for further evaluation and treatment.
The camp was completed successfully with the cooperation of the church authorities, faculty members, students, and the local community, contributing to the promotion of eye health and prevention of avoidable blindness.
